Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka is an American-British sitarist and musician. She is the youngest female and the first to receive the British House of Commons shield. Anoushka Shakar is a promising young emerging superstar on the Indian Sitar, is Anoushka. She is both the student and daughter of Ravi Shankar. She was born London in 1982, and during her early years, she swam in London New Delhi. The first time she performed was at New Delhi at the tender age of thirteen. After that, she moved in Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999. Anouskha was only an teen, has enjoyed a successful performing and recording career. For a long time she performs regularly alongside her father. The year 1998 saw her released Anourag as her first solo record. She appeared in Carnegie Hall in her teenage period, as well as recorded for George Harrison's WOMAD Festival. It is the House of Commons Shield was awarded an award from the British Parliament as the pre-eminent Asian Arts musician. She is the only female and is the smallest recipient of this distinction.
